Anglian angle for
a weekend of real fun
THE Essex and Suffolk Country Link group is hosting the Spring 1998 National Country Link weekend and members must send deposits without delay if they wish to join in the fun over the May Bank Holiday (May 1-3).
Accommodation has been booked at the County Hotel, Copdock, Ipswich, Suffolk, and the fun begins on Friday night with a fancy dress evening (theme: An outrageous T-shirt), a buffet meal and dancing to music by The Poachers plus disco.
Coach trips have been arranged for Saturday to Newmarket National Stud, a farm visit, Munton & Fison Maltings, Colchester Zoo and Constable Country – just make your choice. After dinner that evening the Metric Foot (ceilidh) band will provide music for dancing.
Those still rarin to go on Sunday morning can chose between visiting Ipswich Transport Museum or Essex secret nuclear bunker, taking a guided tour of Colchester or exploring Constable Country. A traditional Sunday lunch is an optional extra (£12) and so is a further night at the hotel (£27 bed breakfast).
