Anglian up for sale

VEGETABLE processor Anglian Processors of Watton, Norfolk, has gone into administrative receivership and is now up for sale.

Trading losses in 1994/95 were compounded when company bosses took ownership of a hotel in Poland, in settlement for a bad debt from a Polish customer, explained receiver, Jonathan Sisson of Coopers & Lybrand sucking cash out of the business.

There are several farmer creditors, but not as many as there might have been, had the receivership occurred after the start of the new pea season.

Mr Sisson hopes most of the growers will stick with Anglian to increase the chance of finding a buyer.n
