Size isnt everything… the smallest of the three cattle seen above with Christopher Jerman at last weeks store sale at Bishops Castle, Shropshire made the highest price of £1850. The 280kg three-quarter bred Limousin steer took the top price at this event for the Bishops Castle and District Quality Cattle Association. It also marked a personal best at this sale for Mr Jerman, who farms near Newtown, Powys. The other two animals with him made £1120 and £555. This was a day when steers averaged 124p/kg and heifers levelled 121p/kg. And quality, as always, was what people were looking for in the cattle lines (left). (Halls)
