This June 1997-born Blonde dAquitaine bull won its class at the Aberdeen Spring Show and Sale on Tuesday, after its twin brother stood breed champion at Perth earlier this month. From Jim Grant, it made 950gns. Top price was 4200gns for a Charolais bull from Robert Milne.

Lettuce anyone? NFU president Ben Gill officially opened Madestein UKs new nine-acre £1.8m glasshouse at Chichester, West Sussex, last week. As well as producing more than 300,000 boxes of lettuces each year, the firm also grows bedding plants and poinsettias.
