Ashford Cattle Market moves

ASHFORD Cattle Market, in Kent, has moved to a new site, defying the trend of livestock markets closing in the face of declining sales, poor prices and supermarkets buying directly from farmers.

The market is now three miles from the town centre, near to the Ashford ring road, and close to the M20 motorway.

The 37.06ha (15 acre site) will also feature various shops, a restaurant and a childrens adventure playground.

It will open every day, but livestock sales will only take place two or three days a week. Auctions of sheep, pigs and farm equipment will take place on the site.
