Axe attack on Zimbabwe farmer
A WHITE farmer was attacked with an axe by squatters who invaded his farm in Zimbabwe.
Gerald Smith was left in a pool of blood after being struck on the head in the attack at Nyarenda Farm, West Province, on Sunday (19 March) reports The Daily Telegraph.
The newspaper says this is the most serious incident since squatters began occupying white-owned farms three weeks ago.
Zimbabwes president Robert Mugabe is heading for a showdown with his courts after they ordered police to clear the squatters and disregard the presidents instructions.
On Monday (20 March) police had not yet removed squatters.
