Ayrshire champion ‘is impure’

A ROYAL HIGHLAND Show Ayrshire champion cow has failed to meet breed standards at the Royal Show at Stoneleigh.

Dumfries-shire dairy farmer Andrew Dunlop said he was “disappointed but not downhearted” at the decision of the shows stewards.

They decided that the four-year-old was only 37.5% pure Ayrshire. The rules state that an animal has to be 50% pure.
