BARLEY prices are unchanged on this time week and intervention remains the main outlet for the UK crop. Ex-farm barley continues to trade at about £69/ tonne.

Intervention offers have now reached 1,250,000 tonnes, but the Intervention Board reports that the rate of submissions is slowing. So far, less than 550,000 tonnes have been delivered into intervention stores.

All bids for barley restitutions were rejected at the Management Committee meeting in Brussels last Thursday.
