Be water-wise is the message

WATER, water everywhere, but never a drop when you need it. So it can seem when it comes to keeping field crops well watered. And with growing restrictions on the use of irrigation water there is a clear need to improve on-farm practice.

For the fourth year running farmers weekly is joining forces with Fusion Events to stage the industry-leading Water for Farming Event.

At the Newark & Notts showground on Wednesday November 17 visitors will not only find the most comprehensive line-up of modern irrigation equipment and service providers, but also a detailed technical seminar programme to help explain the latest thinking in the irrigation sector.

Using water more wisely is becoming ever more important. Not only does its careful use have a profound effect on yield and quality, it also has implications for the environment, local public perception and perhaps most important of all – the farmers pocket.

Dont delay – put the date in your diary today. Making better use of water is something irrigation users simply can not afford to ignore. And if you book a ticket before the day, admission is free.

We look forward to meeting you at the event.

Charles Abel, technical editor FW & Andy Newbold, event director, Fusion Events.
