Beef store upper limit under review

BRUSSELS is to look again at weights for accepting beef in to intervention, following complaints this week by Ulster Farmers Union president, Greer McCollum.

The upper limit of 370kg for steers is denying Northern Irish producers access to crucial support, he told the commission this week, and should be increased to 390kg.

Other eligibility criteria should also be more flexible.
