Berisford focuses on engineering
BERISFORDS attempts to transform itself from a commodities trader to an engineering group is analysed in the Financial Times.
The group used to own British Sugar and had a 45% stake in the Rayner Coffee International.
Berisford was brought to its knees at the end of the eighties when the value of its property interests collapsed.
Today it has two divisions – Welbilt, a US cooking equipment supplier, and Magnet, the UK kitchens and joinery group.
