Beware residues after hot summer

DONT be tempted to short-cut cultivation requirements where herbicide residues may be a risk to following crops, warns ADAS.

Computer calculations show herbicide degradation was well above the long-term average in September, thanks to warm, wet soils. But slow breakdown during the hot, dry summer means residues still exceed the long-term average for the time of year.

Cultivation recommendations on product labels should be adh-ered to as usual, ADAS urges. &#42
