Bid to save amphibians from plough


SUSSEX farmer Justin Harmer is considering planting flax on land that is a rare haven for frogs, toads and newts. His actions have upset conservationists, who have held a protest picnics at the site.
Earlier this year, Harmer ploughed the Offham Down Site of Special Scientific Interest. He managed to do this under a loophole in European law.
