Bidding opens for energy
GOVERNMENT has launched a new round of bidding for further renewable energy contracts.
The contracts are for 400MW-500MW of new capacity under the governments fourth renewables order (NFFO-4).
Junior energy minister Richard Page said he would consider energy crops and forestry waste and agricultural waste by anaerobic digestion as two separate technology bands for new generating stations for NFFO-4.
The order is expected to be made early in 1997 and will run for up to 15 years. *
