Big bang bird scarer takes the night off
LATEST bird scarer from Spaldings comes in the form of a programmable propane-fired unit.
The electronic device uses a control box with a touch pad to enable the operator to set from one to five detonations, with the time span between each detonation being adjustable from 5-100min.
Like all modern bird scarers, a photocell unit is intended to prevent the machine from operating in darkness, while a time delay (30min intervals up to a maximum five-hour period) prevents early morning and late evening operation.
A 12V vehicle battery is required to operate the device, though Spaldings says an optional internal rechargeable battery can be fitted. The Spaldings bird scarer costs £412 (01522-500600).
