Biscuit wheats are worth £2/t extra

A PREMIUM of about £2/t has re-emerged for biscuit-type wheats compared with the 50p/t typical since the beginning of the year.

"Its much needed," says Glencore Grains Robert Kerr, with feed samples worth about £70/t ex-farm early this week.

Crucial now will be the export volume shipped in the next three months. "Domestic buyers just do not want it," says Mr Kerr.

March movement was encouraging, despite the strong £ about 450,000t headed overseas.
