Booker hopes for US sell-off

BOOKER, the food distribution group, hopes to report in a months time that it has sold its US chicken breeding business, Arbor Acres.

The Financial Times reports that a deal on Arbor Acres could bring in up to £60 million, with a trade buyer the most likely solution.

Talks with Bookers 21 banks about refinancing its debt are also nearing completion.

An agreement could be announced at the same time as the second interim results, which are due this month.
