Breathe easy with lightweight mask

SLOUGH-BASED Bradwest has introduced what it describes as a lightweight and comfortable respiratory facemask – the Aircap 2 – for use when working in dusty conditions.

Weighing 300g, the Aircap 2 uses a cylindrical fan to draw polluted air through a pair of filters, removing microscopic particles. Clean air is then blown across the users face and breathing zone at a rate of 170 litres/min, says Bradwest.

Power is provided by C-size batteries which can be carried either in the users pocket or on a belt. The Aircap 2 is priced at £82. (01628-660908)
