A man arrested after an incident at a farm in the Gloucestershire badger cull zone has been charged with assault.

The 30-year-old from the Bristol area, who has not been named, has been charged with aggravated trespass and common assault.

Police officers working under Operation Themis – the badger cull policing operation – were called to a farm in Bromsberrow Heath, Ledbury, on the Gloucestershire-Herefordshire border, at around 10pm on Monday (22 September).

Following the incident, the 30-year-old man was arrested and later questioned at Cheltenham police station.

The man has been bailed to appear before magistrates in Cheltenham on 23 October.
