BSE/CJD group not to publish results

POLITICIANS have decided not to publish a report into the evidence from vets and scientists on recent developments on BSE and CJD, presented at four sessions of the joint agriculture/health parliamentary committees.

Committee chairmen Sir Jerry Wiggin (agriculture) and Marion Roe (health) felt that the speed of changing events during the BSE-crisis had left much of the evidence outdated. Sir Jerry (Con, Weston-super-Mare) said the diversity of opinions meant that a consensus had not been achieved.
