BSE cull payments revised

THE revised compensation rates for the BSE cull scheme has been set for May by MAFF today (Tuesday).


The compensation is payable for an animal slaughtered because it is suspected of being infected by BSE and is the amount equal to the lower of either the market value of the animal or the indicative market price (IMP).


This will be a maximum of:

  • £517 if BSE is confirmed by post mortem;

  • £646.25 if BSE is not confirmed.
