BSP claim figures
FIGURES released by MAFF show that, in the first half of the year, first beef special premium claims totalled 509,095 – equivalent to 54% of the regional ceiling for England and Wales.
Although MAFF expects more claims than last year in the next six months due to reduced calf exports, it still believes England and Wales will remain within its 940,380 claims limit.
As such, beef producers will get the full £85.82 a head on their first 90 male animals, with an 80% advance going out in October. Last year this payment was scaled back 9.3% (22.3% in Scotland). *
