Butterfields take honours

LANCS-based Holstein Friesian breeders R and R Butterfield took the champion and reserve placings and achieved the two top prices at the Border Counties breed clubs show and sale at Carlisle.

Judge David Yates of Castle Douglas awarded the championship to the calved heifer Ingleview Dawn 15th by the Starbuck son Ingleview Star Bonus. She made 1400gns to B Williamson, Co Durham.

Ingleview Buttergirl 154th, a calved heifer from one of the herds most successful families, took the reserve ticket. This Wiseburrow Status daughter was also taken by Mr Williamson at 1240gns.

There was a good line-up of cattle from Dumfries vendor R Kirkwoods Dockenflat herd whose best price came with a bid of 1020gns for Dockenflat Charmaine 63rd, a calved heifer by Walkerbrae Starmaker. Buyer was &#42 M Dent, Darlington.
