Buy-up adds more wrappers

FIRST result of the recent acquisition by Dowdeswell of Volacs machinery division is a new range of bale wrappers.

Developed jointly by Dowdes-well and Volac, the line-up includes both trailed and tractor-mounted models designed to wrap bales with diameters from 1.2m-1.8m (4ft-6ft).

Common to all machines is the use of a three-belt, hydraulically powered wrapping table and an ability to use both 500mm and 750mm film.

The trailed 820 and 840 models differ only in their control systems – the 840 benefits from a programmable Auto-Control electronic system enabling the operator to pick up the bale, pre-set the number of wraps and, on completion, tip the bale from the table, all through the use of an in-cab switch.

The 820 has manual controls. Automatic controls are also fitted to the tractor-mounted 740 version – the loader tractor having a remote infrared system to allow one-man operation.

Dowdeswell is now set to market the new wrapper range through its existing dealer network.

Prices of the tractor-mounted 720 and 740 models are £4750 and £7000. The trailed 820 and 840 models cost £8100 and £9600, respectively. &#42
