Call for legal action over delayed aid payments

PERTHSHIRE farmers have urged the National Farmers Union of Scotland to take legal action over delays in aid payments.

The move comes after reports that some producers are facing bankruptcy because of the delays.

Stuart Mclaren, of Crieff, said the situation was unacceptable. He told a meeting of Perth farmers that producers should be able to claim interest for late subsidy payments.
