Call to arms on hunting bill

FARMERS FOR Action is urging all those who can to attend a demonstration against the government‘s decision to ban hunting with dogs in London‘s Parliament Square on Wed (Sep 15).

The protest, organised by the Countryside Alliance, is to coincide with the reading of the Hunting Bill to Parliament.

“We would ask that as many people as possible try and get to Parliament Square on Wed before 12 noon to make MPs fully aware that we want a democracy and not a dictatorship in the UK,” said David Handley, chairman of Farmers for Action.

The FFA views the government‘s decision to use the Parliament Act as “an attack on democracy in rural Britain”.

“It is therefore very important that we all stick together, whether you are pro-hunting or don‘t give two hoots, otherwise this could be the beginning of the end,” said Mr Handley.
