Call to implement report

FIFTEEN environment and consumer organisation are asking their 2m members to write to Tony Blair asking him to implement the policy commission report on the future of farming and food.

The groups, which include the Royal Society for the Protection of Birdsand the Soil Association, are worried that governments enthusiasm is waning for the reports recommendations.

Mark Avery, RSPB director of conservation, said: "The Curry report opened up new thinking and approaches to agricultural policy. What we need to do now is make it happen." &#42
