Can we use citric acid?

WITH reference to an article in FARMERS WEEKLY: It has been identified that citric acid, although approved, may not be suitable for foot-and-mouth control.

More information in this area is required as clearly citric acid is one of the most easily available products.

Citric acid, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide are effective against foot-and-mouth organisms, but are made more effective when detergent and wetting agents are added, not as stated in FARMERS WEEKLY last week.
