Caution advised over food company shares

INVESTORS are advised to take a cautious approach to the food producers sector of the stock market, according to an analysis piece in The Independent.

One disadvantage of food producers is that they are perceived as relatively mature companies with poor growth prospects, reports the paper.

It says that weak relationships with retailers makes food producers vulnerable although Unilever, Cadburys and Unigate have good investment prospects.
