Charollais £200 boost

A LIFT of nearly £200 in the average price of ram lambs was achieved at the British Charollais Sheep Societys Lanark fixture on Monday.

Prices peaked at 2600gns paid by Aberdeenshire-based W J Hunter for a ram lamb from Blair Dufftons Drumdollo flock sired by Cairnhill Commander.

The judge, Geraint Lloyd, Llanbydder, Dyfed awarded the championship to a ram lamb from James Kinnairds Findatie flock and bought the lamb for 2100gns.

Cumbria breeder Brian Atkin-sons best was 2300gns for a ram lamb from his Scratchmere flock at Penrith bought by R and M Patterson, Dunblane.
