Chicken Run makers wont help chickens run
THE British animator behind the hit move Chicken Run has upset animal welfare campaigners by refusing to help battery hens, reports the Daily Express.
Aardman Animations, the production company belonging to Nick Park, was approached by Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue, reports the paper.
The charity, which “last year saved 4000 birds from slaughter”, wrote several letters, but were told that the companys budget had already been spent.
“Battery hens get a better deal in Parks film than the real-life chickens that live nearby,” says a caption under a film-still published alongside the story.
