A NEW website provides growers and agronomists in the horticultural crop sector with technical guidance on soil fumigation.

The site, www.certiscleanstart.com has been launched by fumigant distributors Certis.

It coincides with the launch of their CleanStart programme, which shows how growers can adopt an integrated approach to pest, weed and disease control, the company said.

“The website is a useful technical guide for growers and agronomists in the high value horticultural crop sectors who are seeking an alternative fumigant to methyl bromide,” said the firm‘s Peter Hingley.

The website provides general details on the benefits of fumigation and the optimum conditions for best results, as well as information on the firm‘s fumigant product Basamid (dazomet).
