DAIRY farmers must continue to work together and invest in the future to be able to carry on earning a fair price for their milk, says Milk Marque chairman, Poul Christensen.
At the co-ops annual meeting in Warwick on Tuesday, he warned that UK producer prices were unlikely to improve markedly until the value of sterling returned to more sustainable levels.
Milk Marque continued to press government to apply for green £ compensation. It had also written to the Bank of England monetary policy team to explain the impact the strong £ was having on agriculture. *
