Coffee producers urge devaluation
COFFEE producers are pressuring the Burundi government to devalue its currency and boost exports of the central African countrys coffee.
Coffee production is expected to rise to 25,000 tonnes in 1998-99, up from 16,000 tonnes in 1997-98.
But the Burundi Coffee Board says low international prices have kept traders away.
