Cold store back-up

A REFRIGERATION unit built to cool stores containing up to 750t of vegetables has been developed by Lincs-based Farm Electronics with components supplied by Dawmec and SS Coils.

Originally designed for use in New Zealand, the 36kW refrigeration unit is adapted to cope with irregular local electricity supplies.

Dawmec supplied ZS scroll compressors for the unit and SS Coils designed and supplied the evaporator and condenser coils for the refrigeration units.

The ZS scroll compressor has built-in rotation and phase loss protection to prevent damage.

These safety features, says Dawmec, are important for farms located in remote areas where power supplies can be variable. &#42
