Computer use gains ground

INFORMATION technologys growing impact on the farming community is shown in the latest members survey by Morley Research Centre; 68% of farmers members now use a computer, up from 50% in 1993, and 75% own a fax. Electronic information systems are also gaining ground, the survey shows. Modem links are already used by 28% of computer users, with 14% connected to the Internet or e-mail, and 36% considering this within the next 12 months.n
