Conferences get going at Beef 02
IS THERE a future producing British beef, is the title of this years conference being held on the eve of Beef 2002. The conference, at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland, on May 23, will host five speakers representing all sectors of the beef supply chain.
The following day, Breeding the perfect suckler cow for your herd and Successfully calving homebred heifers at two years of age, will be the two animal demonstration areas at the National Beef Association event, Beef 2002, taking place at Wooler Livestock Centre.
More than 30 different crosses of commercial cows with calves at foot will be present at what is billed as the largest gathering of suckler cow types ever put together in the UK.
Also on show will be woodchip corrals, total mixed ration feeding and electronic tagging. Eight seminars will be held throughout Beef 2002 on topics ranging from vet inputs to beef carcass dressing specifications.
More than 100 commercial and educational stands will be present, along with 17 beef breed societies.
