Consumers don’t trust government on GM

A SURVEY by the UKs National Consumer Council reports consumers believe they are deliberately misled by the government about a range of products, including genetically modified (GM) food.

The survey found many consumers believe GM foods are inadequately labelled and the crucial information is being concealed.

The English Association of the Presbyterian Church of Wales has become the latest institution to express that distrust, according to a report in The Guardian. It has called on the government to put a moratorium on their use.
