Cow roadshow draws a blank
MAFF and ADAS embarked on a series of 25 cow condition scoring and handling roadshows last week. Nearly 24,000 invitations were printed, inviting farmers to come along and get free advice from ADAS consultants.
Unfortunately, the ministry failed to send the invitations out on time. So while the advisers were kicking their heels at the second roadshow in Gloucestershire on Tuesday, the invitations were simultaneously dropping onto doormats around the region. Only one farmer, whose post arrived early, turned up. The first meeting, last week, attracted nobody.
As FW went to press (Wed) MAFF was still trying to find out if the invitations for the remaining 23 meetings had been dispatched.n
