GREAT support from local dairy farmers boosted trade for the the 40 cows and heifers offered from the Dumfriesshire-based Craig-house Holstein Friesian herd. The sale of the milking portion levelled at £979.

The herd, which represents 70 years of continuous milk production on the farm, is owned by the firm of Robert Black, Lockerbie. Prices peaked at 1350gns paid by J T and E M Marrs, Carlisle for a second calver by Jethro. A total of 14 head made over £1000. (Harrison and Hetherington).
