Criminals target the ATVs

POLICE fear criminals are stealing quad bikes to order – costing British farming thousands of pounds a year.

General Accident (GA) estimates that one in four all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) is stolen at some stage. Each is worth on average about £9,000.

John Kaye, GAs agriculture manager, said: “Quad bikes are soft targets because of the ease with which they can be loaded into a van or trailer then quickly sold on.”
