Cut calf costs, and keep them healthy

REDUCE calf rearing costs without risking health and growth using Dairymate milk replacer, says supplier Volac.

The rich and nutritious combination of milk protein and selected oils, vitamins and minerals, contains over double the concentration of antibodies found in whole milk, the firm says.

It also contains the gut conditioner Gardion with lactic acid bacteria and plant extract, which combine to help prevent rotavirus, e coli and salmonella, according to the company.

There are two versions available – Instant for hot or cold mixing, and Free-flow for machine feeding.

Each litre of milk replacer costs about 12p, with a 20kg bag priced at £20 (01223-207885).
