Dairymen vote for £10m ad budget
DAIRY farmers have voted in favour of a generic milk promotion scheme which will involve a £10 million spend over 18 months.
Nick Brown, agriculture secretary, is expected to bring in legislation which will enable the Milk Development Council to increase its levy income by 0.03ppl from dairy producers to raise £3.5m.
The National Dairy Council expects to see a further £1m coming from the European Union and around £2m from British supermarkets.
