Deere income up again

DEERE & Company reports a record fourth quarter net income of $211.3m – an increase of $37.4m on the same period last year.

Higher profits are reported by Deeres chairman and chief executive Hans Becherer to have resulted from strong worldwide demand for the companys products.

"Operating margins remained at strong levels as a result of continuous improvement and quality initiatives," he maintains.

"The companys investment in the development of new products and markets should further its worldwide leadership position – we expect another strong operating performance next year."
