Demand on the rise
MORE intensive potato production, consolidation to create larger units and less labour mean demand for high capacity irrigation equipment is soaring.
To meet that demand Wright Rain launched new larger-capacity hose-reel irrigators. "Our new IG3 and IG4 ranges have up to 650m of hose compared with the previous maximum of 550m," says the companys Dennis Temple.
"This will enable farmers with large fields to cover the lot instead of having to divide them up with a central headland and install an aluminium main." *
