Dip tests revealed
DETAILS of the £500,000 epidemiological study into the effects of sheep dip on human health were revealed, following a meeting of the Veterinary Products Committee.
The three-part study by the Institute of Occupational Medicine, which began last month and will run until April 1999, will assess the extent of the exposure of farmers to both concentrate and dilute sheep dip.
Sheep farmers and dippers will undergo physical and mental tests to identify any neurological or neurobehavioural problems in the survey, with details assessed against control subjects. *
