Dirty feed warning

CONTAMINATED livestock feed is a common source of grain storage pests on mixed farms, warns Steve Kershaw of Peter Cox Environmental.

"We often find farms where the store has been prepared well and grain comes in clean, but they still succumb to infestation. This can be because the pests arrive in dirty animal feed."

He urges growers to demand recompense when that happens. "When you buy feed you expect it to be clean – that is what you are paying for. If it isnt you really should be looking for some compensation. &#42
