Do I change my fertiliser policy?

Will we have to change the fertiliser policy, such as autumn N in the short term and in the longer term go for placement for P and K, as suggested in overseas work?

There is no need to change P and K policy. At present there is no evidence that cultivations will affect the crops ability to obtain these nutrients.

Autumn N used to be advised for direct drilled crops and I can see a case for up to 30 kg/ha being applied to overcome the temporary lock-up of N as trash breaks down.

This does contravene the Good Agricultural Practice advice of course
