Donkey refuge offered

A DORSET donkey refuge is now available following a reorganisation of charity, The Donkey Sanctuary.

Three Gates Farm, Leigh, near Sherborne, has been well maintained by the organisation, according to David Hebditch of selling agent Humberts, and would be capable of servicing a wide range of agricultural or equestrian uses.

Paul Svendson, chief executive of the organisation which has taken into care over 8300 animals, says the decision to sell the 192-acre grass holding was taken because the resident donkey population of the UK has stabilised over the last three years. "We have decided to close the farm furthest from our central facilities."

Including a four-bedroomed period farmhouse and a good range of buildings and covered yards, the property is being guided at £825,000-850,000. &#42

The donkeys are not included but Three Gates Farm, Dorset, would suit a wide variety of equestrian or agricultural uses.
