Drill wins a Queens Award

SEED-DRILL manufacturer Stanhay Webb has won a 1995 Queens Award for Technological Achievement for its Singulaire 785 multi-line vacuum vegetable seed drill.

The Suffolk-based firm started building the Singulaire in 1990, and the machine is now sold in more than 30 countries around the world.

Designed to place natural seed in single, twin and triple lines per row, the 785 tends to be used by UK growers to plant crops such as carrots, onions and parsnips.
